PARS distinguishes between 'Permissions' and 'Roles,' each serving a different purpose within the system:

Permissions: Managed directly by the support team, permissions determine what a user is allowed to do within the system, such as accessing or editing data. Changes to permissions require Program Sponsor approval.

Roles: These represent a user's official job title or responsibilities (e.g., FPD, FPM) but do not impact their system permissions. Roles can be adjusted by anyone with Edit rights, allowing for quick updates to reporting data without compromising system security.

This separation ensures that reporting data can be updated efficiently while maintaining strict control over system access.

Examples of Permissions:

View All: Grants system-wide view access to all PARS projects.

NA IP: Provides view access to all NA projects. Similar permissions exist for other programs, such as CRIP (Interested Party for CR).

[Project] IP: A read-only designation for users needing access to view specific project data.

[Project] PA: Grants edit access to a project and the ability to submit program assessments.

[Project] FPD: Provides edit access to a project and the ability to submit FPD assessments.

[Project] CA: Assigned to Contractor Analysts, granting view access and the ability to upload EVMS data.

Examples of Roles:

Roles, such as FPD or FPM, do not affect a user's permissions but are reflected in PARS reports and the system's user interface. They are primarily used for reporting and organizational purposes.
